200th Hiko Sentai based at Tanza Airfield

Built straight out of the box.  Hinomarus and warning sign were all masked and painted.  The only decals used are the the tail numbers and the Akeno emblems.

Applied subtle weathering using chipping methods and layered colors with oil paints.

The 200th Hiko Sentai formed at the Akeno flight training school the instructors and veteran pilots formed the  core of the group.  It was composed of six (6) chutais (most hiko sentais had 3 or 4) and was hastily sent to the Philippines to strengthen the air defense in late 1944.

One distinct look of the 200th Hiko Sentai was their use of medium to large numbers plus the Akeno emblem painted on the tail of their aircraft.

Happy Modeling!
